In the French v Philip Morris, et al. a Miami jury awarded $5.5 million to a flight attendant with chronic sinusitis who inhaled secondhand smoke during the first 14 years of her career. This verdict marked the first time that a U.S. jury ruled against Big Tobacco in a secondhand smoke case.
